Lap marks may be caused by:
- Porosity of the timber.
- Application in hot weather or direct sunlight.
- The coating is overworked (brushing the product too much in one area).
- Strong draught in an area.
Sometimes, applying another coat solves the problem. If this does not work, the only option is to remove the coating entirely and start again. The coating can be removed by sanding or using a paint stripper such as Intergrain Timber Stripper.
