Do I have to use Dimension 4 under DWD?

Stage 1 Preparation - Reviva®
Clean the timber surface thoroughly with Reviva Timber Cleaner.
Reviva removes mould, excess tannins and oils from the surface in preparation for coating.
Stage 2 Pre-Treatment & Primer: Dimension 4®
Prime the bare timber with one generous or two wet on wet coats of Dimension 4, depending on timber absorption.
Dimension 4 is essential for maximising the life of DWD.
Stage 3 Finishing: DWD®
Apply three coats with a good quality brush or applicator. A fourth coat is recommended in extreme conditions. Do not overspread or apply too thinly as insufficient film thickness will compromise the performance and durability of the finish.
DWD is a highly durable, water based transparent timber coating formulated to retain timber’s natural appearance and to provide excellent protection.
