Tarkine Wilderness Lodge
Tarkine Wilderness Lodge is nestled on the north west coast of Tasmania and sits on the edge of the largest temperate rainforest in the Southern Hemisphere, The Tarkine.
The lodge, constructed out of Macrocarpa Pine timber, offers three luxurious suites that offer beautiful vistas of the surrounding forest. Other timbers were also used for the building timbers, including Myrtle, Celery Top Pine and Sassafras. The unique construction design, built by Darrell Sheppered from Oldina, enables the immense support beams, posts and rafters to be seen inside the building. All of the timber used in the lodge was sawmilled, dressed and processed on site.
It was important to not only protect the timber from the weather but also to keep a natural look in line with the surroundings. DWD was chosen for it’s natural appearance and durability. It was recommended and supplied by 3D Inspirations Cooee in Burnie.
