Chris Mainwarring Memorial
The Chris Mainwaring Memorial in Geralton, Western Australia, was built to commemorate the life of one the states most popular footballers, Eagle star Chris Mainwaring.
The construction of the memorial was completed City of Geraldton/Greenough with assistance from Hub Mainwaring, Chris’ father. Located on the beach at Geraldton it was important that the timber was protected from the harsh seaside environment.
UltraDeck was recommended and supplied by 3D All Decor Geraldton. After preparing the timber with Reviva, two coats of UltraDeck was applied by JMC Décor, with a third coat applied in six months.
Due to the highly exposed nature of the site it is necessary that regular maintenance inspections are carried out to determine the need to re-coating. The maintenance is carried out by City of Geraldton/Greenough.
